- Choose an image you want to use and save it to your desktop for easy access. It doesn't matter how tall it is, but it needs to be at least 648 pixels wide. You can find out how wide an image is in the next step.
- Go to www.drpic.com. You can upload your picture there, and it will tell you exactly what the image's dimensions are. For example, on the upper right-hand side of the uploaded image it might say something like 800 x 600.
- Click RESIZE on the left-hand side of the screen.*
- In the pop-up window specify that you want the image to be 648 pixels wide, maintaining the width to height ratio. (The drop-down menu lets you choose pixels rather than percentages.)
- Right-click on the image after it's resized and save it to your desktop.
- You can now go into blogger, to EDIT LAYOUT. Click Edit Header.
- Click to browse for a new image. You can specify whether you'd like the header to appear behind the title and description of your blog, or instead of it. (You can add words to an image using the program Paint, which comes standard with most computers. Otherwise, just place the image behind the blogger title and description.)
- Click save and you're set. Click VIEW BLOG to see if it worked correctly.
